Mission and Goals

Richmond Enhancing Access to Community Healthcare (REACH) exists to:

Promote collaboration among its members;

Increase access to a comprehensive continuum of quality health care services;
Thereby, strengthening the health care delivery system for the uninsured and underinsured of the greater Richmond metropolitan area.

In 2006, REACH will address three core components of an integrated healthcare delivery model that will support the infrastructure for a community-based health plan: pharmacy, specialty services, and outcomes research; in addition to strengthening and improving internal operations of REACH.

 Richmond Medication Assistance Program
   Assist in the development of a “stand alone” community pharmacy to increase access to free and low-cost pharmaceuticals for all under- and uninsured residents in the greater Richmond metropolitan area.
Specialty Care Network
   In partnership with the Richmond Academy of Medicine, build on Cross Over Ministry's Community Health Referral Network to facilitate the efficient procurement, recruitment and retention of specialty providers and diagnostic services for all area safety net providers.
Outcomes Research
   Develop an evaluation infrastructure that supports data collection within an integrated healthcare delivery system, and enables all participants to clearly identify the improved program efficiencies, cost effectiveness, and health outcomes of the uninsured and underinsured population across the Richmond region.
